A: Lua is a scripting language which was used to write (part) of the code for FS19. The game itself is using it, as well as the seasons mod. However on PC they implemented an interface to run scripts in mods. So the game is allowing mods to change the way the game works via this interface.

The consumption per animal per day was explicitly shown on the animal screen in FS17. FS19 does not show the consumption rates. But, it seems to be about the same. Exactly how many acres you need will depend on how long it takes you to turn the field around (i.e. fertilize, cultivate, plant, etc).
Hey, I've looked into it and at least in my case it seems to be related to the modded shed not having the correct parameters in its xml file, for example with the "automatic door shed" from the mod hub the displacement values are too low, meaning the terrain deformation can't occur.
