    Solution. #2. ARC saves you from having to ran an optical audio cable from the TV to the receiver but you will still need to change the input on the Yamaha. You may need to turn ARC on in the TV menu. It isn't on by default in many cases. You may also need to assign ARC to an input name in the Yamaha input menu. Check the owners manuals.
