Windows 10 Movies and TV app plays recordings from Windows 7 WMC but I can't find the option for enabling closed-captioning. In a similar note, VLC shows closed captioning in Windows 7 but not in Windows 10 from my experience. I have not found a way to play recorded videos with closed-captioning in Windows 10.

If you have noticed that the TCL TV prompts to enter a password to pair with your windows 10 device buy Windows does not show any window to enter password. It shows some coding issue on Microsoft's end resulting in negotiation issue among the MSTAR Media Renderer and Windows 10.
