The history of Harvard University begins in 1636, when Harvard College was founded in the young settlement of New Towne in Massachusetts, which had been settled in 1630. New Towne was organized as a town on the founding of the university, and changed its name two years later to Cambridge, Massachusetts , in honor of the city in England.

Army Medical College (also known as AM College) is a military medical school located in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. It was established in 1977 as a residential institution for imparting undergraduate medical education to selected cadets. The college was renamed as Armed Forces Medical College (AFM College) in September 1960 and finally assumed its current name in 1997.
