For instruments like all koa and 12 string, some extra bass power helps to better balance things out, and the larger GS body seems to do the trick nicely. Remember that koa tops will take some time to open up and will add some low-end as they age a bit. Koa starts out fairly bright and develop richness over time.

It may well be that Elderly is following town/state law in processing info for traded-in merchandise. Sometimes known as either 'reseller' or 'pawn shop' laws. By the way, I bought an Elderly Instrument trucker hat a while back. Actually bought 2 and gave one to a non-musician friend, because it was near his birthday and we're both elderly folks.
Spent some time at Elderly Instruments this morning playing all sorts of Taylor's and some other very nice guitars. Won't name brands, not necessary, but they were high-end, beautiful, and sounded nice. Actually, some not as nice as I would expect. But, I think I'm just too in love with Taylor guitars. They just have the tone and feel that fits me.
Elderly started as a vintage instrument dealer primarily. Hence the name. They have been doing so for 42 years.
My FLGS is Elderly Instruments in Lansing, MI. I was raised in Lansing and worked my career there. I started going to Elderly in 1974, after starting guitar in 1973. At that time, Elderly was in its original store, a hole-in-the-wall store in East Lansing, across from Michigan State (my alma mater, by the way).
Stan (and the whole crew there) is such a nice guy. Calling them regarding the Elderly catalogs was a great idea. I know they couldn't get their whole stock in the Elderly catalogs and I realize that it's better to go online to check out inventory and availability now-a-days, but I sure miss sitting down and thumbing through their catalogs.
Me too with Ted & Helene, plus Martin Music, and 40+ years with Elderly Instruments. oh yeah, forgot about Elderly Instruments. (I've only been going there since 1974.
The 354 is about ten years old and it has the old Expression system. It has a few minor dings in the finish. Elderly considers it to be in 'excellent condition'. So, I'm considering replacing my 456 with the 354, and Elderly has a couple of different purchase options. I thought I'd like the Taylor-verse to weigh in.
Judging by the response to this thread, I'm guessing that the T3 has little interest for the folks here. Even more ominous is the fact that neither my local Sam Ash or GC have had any in (as far as I know); Elderly Instruments doesn't stock them, despite having around 50 Taylor acoustics at any one time, and even Guitar Rodeo didn't have any when I checked yesterday.
