@user_8919a4 Yes, the Comcast/Xfinity email program needs a complete overhaul and especially when so many of us that use mainstream third party email programs (Apple Mail, etc) and it fails over and over again to load. My wife has been without Comcast/Xfinity email on her Apple iPhone and iPad Air now for months.
Comcast doesn't have to give you an email address; indeed many ISPs are doing away with giving customers email addresses since their are many free alternatives like GMail and Outlook 365. Email is not a line item on your bill.
However, when using Outlook 365 I can send outbound emails from Comcast Email accounts. I have referred to all the Xfinity Support documents and the settings for IMAP are set in my Outlook according to these documents. What has changed? I also have the correct setting checked in the Xfinity web access/email client to these two email accounts.

I created a new Xfinity account/password for my wife (I already had one with both of our phones) with her Comcast.net email address. All of her Comcast.net emails reappeared, so I entered the new Comcast password into her iPhone settings and her Comcast.net emails are now coming through on her iPhone. Problem solved.
