Marie Speziale (born c. 1945) is an American trumpeter and the first female trumpet player to play in a major symphony orchestra. [1] [2] She started in the Cincinnati Symphony when she was 19 years old. She served in the orchestra in Cincinnati from 1964 to 1996. She was later professor of Music at Rice University 's Shepherd School of Music.
