The Hard Way (1991), a fun comedy/crime flick that only the early 90s could produce. Woods plays John Moss, a hardboiled no-nonsense NYC cop on the trail of a ruthless serial killer, and gets assigned an annoying sidekick played by Michael J. Fox, a movie star who desperately wants to break out of his "nice guy" screen image and uses Moss as inspiration.
I've checked Woods' IMDB page and the last movie he is credited in is the 2016 animated movie "Bling." He's been in some other movies here and there in the 2010s like White House Down and the 2013 Steve Jobs movie, but he hasn't been in nearly as many prominent movies now as he was in the 80s and 90s.
True Believer (1989) James Woods, Robert Downey Jr. I love this movie, and it was really the film that solidified James Woods as one of my favorite actors to watch on screen. It's a mystery/conspiracy/courtroom drama with a sort of grimy neo-noir feel and a great score by Brad Fiedel.

Elizabeth Perkins outed James Woods as a sexual predator during a MeToo march using this sign: I have never heard her give the details though. Amber Tamblyn tweeted that James Woods tried to pick up her and her friend and take them to Vegas while they were underage. When they protested and told him, "we're 16!" he said, "Even better!"

I've seen a few of his movies over the years, but his career seems very award-batey dramas from the 80s and 90s. Even revisiting movies he's been in that I know like Casino, Contact, and Once Upon a Time in America, he doesn't really leave an impact on me. I never remember him after the movie ended, it's always "oh yeah, James Woods was in that".
James Woods as Hades and Danny DeVito as Phil are brilliant. The soundtrack is killer (whoever decided to use gospel music for a Greek myth is awesome), and the general dialogue ("Coming, your most lugubriousness!") and the Greek mythology/Greek in general jokes are on point (my personal favorite is "Somebody call I-X-I-I!")
It doesnt seem like the movie im looking for. I vividly remember James Woods organizing/playing a russian roulette and a guy he was playing got cold feet so Woods grabs a gun from him, points it to his own temple and pulls a trigger 2-3 times begore handing gun back to the guy.
