7. Slang words are 100% allowed in Scrabble - well, as long as they've been around long enough to have found their way into the dictionary. The idea that slang is in some way verboten in Scrabble is mysteriously widespread among casual players I've run across. I defy them to find that prohibition in the actual rules!

I guess you can add additional restrictions to what is legal, like stating a more limited word source, like a collegiate dictionary. For what it's worth, many clubs allow beginners to play with club-printed lists of 2-letter words.

My first guess would be to pare down the legal scrabble dictionary by removing all words that a subset of the letters forms another word (for example, AND would be removed because AN is a valid word), then for each word find the number of possible pulls from the bag that can form that word and no other word previously ...
