He rode in the top tier of British Speedway, riding for Wembley Lions who he joined from Southampton Saints for £1,500 in July 1950.

Anthony Oakley (born August 16, 1981) is a former American football guard. He was signed by the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent in 2004. He played college football at Western Kentucky. Oakley was also a member of the Frankfurt Galaxy, Chicago Bears, Arizona Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs, Houston Texans, and Las Vegas Locomotives.
