I have been using uTorrent on Mac for about 3 years now and have rarely encountered files that, upon download, tell you the remaining time is infinity. Usually canceling that torrent and selecting a different file from a different site seems to fix the problem. However, now all of my files are coming up with the infinity symbol.
Hi there new to utorrent, and while I was doing the speed test it would fail on the closest area, so I did what was the users here said and it worked, thanks for that. However first time configure so I enabled the encryption like the welcome page said and then ran a speed test again to the closest location, which was failing before.

Did you check the folder where your .torrent are saved ? By default it's in uTorrent folder in AppData. Anyway check in Settings > Directories where you save .torrent files. Maybe try to do the things properly: 1/ create a new folder to save all your future.torrent files e.g. \Torrents in My Documents folder or AppData\uTorrent (as you want)
The typical argument is someone saying "I'm going to keep using the ancient version 2!" Heaven forbid that the people making Utorrent should make a penny out of it with advertisements. For $5 a YEAR, you can removed all the advertisements. If you download one thing a year via Utorrent, it has already paid for itself.
In this mode, from what I understand, uTorrent more uniformly sends out pieces, by checking which ones people already have, and sending out those that people don't have, one after the other. In normal seeding mode, it's first come first serve, all you can download buffet - and you may end up sending the whole torrent a total of 2 or 3 times ...
BOOYAH!!! SUCCESS!!! 2-3hrs of mucking around, I now am successfully 12% of the way through a magnet file in my uTorrent.. :cool: Open a chrome browser, install an app from Chromestore (magentme or magnet2torrent etc) it basically shortens/converts the magnet file to a torrent file.. took 2min to install, <1min to get magnet into uTorrent = happy camper!!!
