The console is much quieter than the PS4, but not what I'd consider silent as I've seen mentioned on here. In comparison, the series X is effectively silent. The disc drive is audible when first launching a game. Once that calms down I can't really hear the console, the same distance away as the PS5, unless I'm right next to the console.
Step 1: announce PS5 and add raytraced reflections as standout feature of the new console over PS4 Step 2: remove said feature from PS5 versions of games 4 years into its lifecycle and announce PS5 Pro to sell the same raytraced reflections to the new fanbase.
But this console has really emphasised cleaning quite often and it's weird because I don't feel like I've had to do this as much over years. I barely ever cleaned my PS1 and PS2. I hope this won't be a big thing going forward. Bit worried my console might die soon.
ps5 is still a perfectly fine console tbh. i think you'll be happy with it until the ps6 if you dont wanna deal with pc gaming, because you WILL run into issues there pretty regularly. i use my pc for indies, pc centric games (strategy/management etc), and retro stuff. most modern games will run without an issue. but older games are pretty ...
But I had to clean my PS5 entirely 3 times since launch, as it started to shut down on its own on heavy games. I never had that on any other console ever. And this is the culprit: that fucking retarded design (at 51 secondes in the video)
