Try resetting your settings by following these steps: 1- Close qBittorrent. 2- Go to: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\qBittorrent 3- Delete this file: qBittorrent 4- Start qBittorrent. qBittorrent is open source which in theory should make it more reviewable and safe from bad actors, but definitely do research. There's probably a bit of bias in the answers you get from this subreddit because we all like and use the software.
Open Start Menu, right-click on the qBit shortcut, select to open its location, now right-click on the shortcut file, right-click on it, click properties, and then change Target field to: "C:\Program Files\qBittorrent\qbittorrent.exe" -platform windows:darkmode=2. Now open qBittorrent and enable Search Engine from Menu Bar>View>Search Engine. After that go to the newly added Search tab and click on Search plugins.. from the lower right corner. Click on Check for updates and make sure that Jackett is enabled. Disable other search engines, you won't need them.
