I'm currently over 27K photos and the library size is 224GB in iCloud. For the past 3 months, I have had very poor battery life on my iPhone 15 Pro Max, and the top user of my battery is Photos background sync.
Then -- this is important -- set up iCloud on the Mac and turn Find My Mac ON. This will link your Mac to your iCloud ID and unlink it from the seller's. ***NOTE: As far as I can tell, this will not work if the seller has not remotely erased the Mac first.
16. Columbus, Ohio. Sep 27, 2023. #4. Thanks for the replies. I can now backup the 15 PM on iCloud (it only shows 2.2 GB being used) and the 13 PM is no longer listed as a temp backup. However, the temp is now the 15 PM, which shows 4.4 GB. I’m concerned about deleting that as it might delete the 2.2 GB backup I was just successful in completing.
6. Apps. Here, I don't care. For important apps, I have all my login credentials. That data is saved on the provider's systems. Just redownload the apps and log back in. Everything else isn't important to me. I do have a 2TB iCloud sub, but it's for convenience not backup/storage.
