28 Days Later is the superior movie. But 28 Weeks Later is a decent sequel, just not as great. The director they hired wanted to do something different, and I believe his personal style somehow got in the way of his movie remaining consistent with the original.

I loved 28 Weeks Later, almost more than the original. My favorite part of a zombie/infected movie is seeing things go from good, to kinda bad, to really bad. Watching the dominoes fall in 28 Weeks Later is satisfying to me.

The guy clearly struggled with the idea of going against orders and helping them, and in the end he made a decision that could potentially doom the world. Every bad thing that happened in 28 Weeks Later was caused by the American characters' incompetence and/or apathy.

28 Weeks Later is so close to a perfect movie (spoilers) Just watched both 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later, but mostly wanted to talk about the latter. This movie is very good, but had potential to be an all time great. Unfortunately, the writing is incredibly inconsistent as well as being written around a huge plot hole.

Perhaps some of the dislike of 28 Weeks Later is because of the inflated appreciation of 28 Days Later. "Days" was simply a zombified retelling of Day of the Triffids (1963). Yes, Days was definitely faster paced and had higher production value, but the story was essentially the same.

  7. 28 Days Later vs 28 Weeks Later : r/horror - Reddit

28 Days Later no contest. It’s such a well crafted movie that focuses on the characters. 28 Weeks Later is very weak on that front since it focuses on the action and throws any semblance of logic and believability out of the window. Also, those kids suck so bad, they are really unlikable. 2.

For more than a decade /R/HORROR has been reddit.com's gateway to all things Horror: from movies & TV, to books & games. 28 Weeks Later. So, I never watched 28 Weeks Later, and I'm not a fan of zombie movies usually, but this one absolutely blowed my mind. The soundtrack was excellent at setting up a feeling of dread throughout the movie, and ...

28 weeks later provides more of a political undertow to the story line. For me it illustrated that no matter how much control we put in place, it only takes one event for a system to weaken. Where 28 days later was more of a thinking movie, 28 weeks later was more of an action movie (imo, of course). But the one thing I LOVE was the beginning.

Zombies aren't scary. You can literally walk past them". Seeing 28 Days Later as a teen completely changed my opinion on the genre. In time, I've grown to really love and appreciate all the classic zombie movies, but I'm not sure I would have given them a second chance without the new life infused by 28 Days Later.

Then in 28 Weeks Later, this idea falls apart, hard. It is discovered that there are infected people who never turn but carry the disease. The opening starts strong, Don abandons his wife upon seeing the horde of infected enter the safehouse and runs away. But later in the movie, Don is the one who restarts the infection anew because he finds ...
