For example, as a result of my initial Big Y-500 test, I got the terminal SNP R1b-FGC36974. Then a fifth cousin of mine also did the Big Y-500. He and I both went to R1b-FGC36982, one step downstream of FGC36974. Subsequently, another fifth cousin did the Big Y-700 when it first came out. He also landed at R1b-FGC36982.

I spoke with a customer rep about the Y-111 during the 2014 end-of-year sale and she said, "oh, it's a different test and it DOES NOT have your Y-68 to Y-111 results."

Big-Y 700 is primarily a SNP test, Y-12, 37, 67 & 111 are STR tests. Big-Y 700 does include an additional 600 STRs. I'm guessing the Y-12, 37, 67 & 111 results are good if they were reported. The experience I have seen so far is that most Big Y participants will get about 90 novel variants, in addition to a reading for every known SNP (at $39 a piece, if someone is R1b L21+ & wants to know deeper subclades, the Big Y may be cheaper than ordering individual SNP tests).
