Snapchat was meant to be used on mobile devices so use your phone if you want to snap. I would be VERY careful using an emulator for Snapchat. It is against their TOS and if it detects you using something like that you will get your account locked. So I know there is a desktop app, but it's useless because it doesn't let you view or send snaps...
Bluestacks is actively being blocked by Snapchat. The only workaround I've read about is to install Bluestacks 2 -- way old version. I haven't tried this. Another post suggested using Casper APK but when I downloaded it from two different sites, they both got blocked by my antivirus because they had trojans.

I also tested Bluestacks so I could run Whatsapp inside a VPN. You can use OBS to record anything that happens inside there. I'd be very surprised if Snapchat could detect that. I know Snapchat sends an instant notification to the user whenever you screen record their story or chat on phone.
