I mean, the Desantis is “alright” but I don’t like “alright” in leather. I like tough and awesome. And that, my friends, it is not. It is a “nice” holster, don’t get me wrong, and it does have adjustable retention, which is a nice touch. I mean it beats a nylon job all day long. But it’s just not for me.
Ive used a Desantis nemesis for years with no complaints. Semi related possibly, but I use a Sticky double mag holster in my other pocket for pepper spray and a spare mag for a Kahr PM9. Ive had issues with the mag sliding out of the holster a couple of times. Granted its a PM9 so its a thin, single stack, 9mm mag.
Feb 19, 2009. #18/22. I've been very happy with my Don Hume, DeSantis and HighNoon holsters. All are high quality and durable leather holsters. The biggest differences are price and availability. Both the Hume and DeSantis are fairly inexpensive and stocked with the bigger online vendors.
I like the don hume because it has the hook for your non shooting hand to catch while pulling the firearm out of the holster. I haven’t tried any other pocket holsters for comparison but I like this one. I have a Don Hume for a Glock 26 that I bought almost 30 years ago. I've put less than 200 rounds through it with zero issues. Asking $300 firm (for now). I will include everything pictured: Two 6 round mags with grip extensions. Two IWB holsters (DeSantis Sof Tuk and DeSantis Nemesis). Hogue JR grip sleeve (and grip tape that I cut and put on the slide and frame) which improves shooting comfort noticeably.

The Sig Sauer version of the 1911 has beveled edges on the slide which prevents it from fitting in some standard government size 1911 holsters. I found this out the hard way when the BladeTech I ordered from Brownells didn't fit. The Sig Sauer version of the 1911 Kydex holster uses manual retention (SERPA like) which I absolutely can't stand.

Here are my initial thoughts and review after carrying it for about a week. 1. Construction: Very well made, stitching is tight and appears to be glued as well as stitched. The edges are burnished for a nice finished look.
