  2. Hobby Lobby Fabric? - The Quilting Forum - Missouri Star's Quilt...

    forum.missouriquiltco.com/.../general-discussion/49816-hobby-lobby-fabric

Re: Hobby Lobby Fabric? I don't have much experience with Hobby Lobby fabric, they just opened the first store near me. Of course I went to check it out. They have a decent selection of quilting cottons, not really any big name designers but nice prints in a wide range of colors. I bought a few yards, the prices were good.

  3. LQS quilt fabric vs Joann/hobby lobby fabric

    forum.missouriquiltco.com/forum/we-don-t-know-much-but-we-know-quilters/...

Re: LQS quilt fabric vs Joann/hobby lobby fabric When I first started quilting, I bought a lot of fabric from Wal-Mart & Hobby Lobby, b/c I didn't want to pay LQS prices in case I messed up the project. I buy less fabric from WM now, but then sometimes you find just what you're looking for.

Sewology is Hobby Lobby's brand for sewing notions - I've not tried their thread, but I've bought other items under this brand (pins, rivets, ribbon, etc.) all seem to be decent quality. Let us know if you try the thread

Good to know. I did know it was only 20" wide and only plan on buying it when/if I can get it at 50% off. On a side note, the other day I found that Hobby Lobby has 40% coupons online that you can print out and use in the store, once a day.

  6. LQS quilt fabric vs Joann/hobby lobby fabric

    forum.missouriquiltco.com/.../46065-lqs-quilt-fabric-vs-joann-hobby-lobby-fabric

My Hobby Lobby has a huge selection of Kona solids. Their fabric is regularly marked at 30% off, but I only buy with a coupon. If I have a coupon for 40-50% off one fabric, I will ask the clerk to charge me the regular price so I can use the coupon and get a greater percentage off.

I use 40wt mostly for quilting on top and 50wt in bobbin, because that is what my longarm seems to like. Occasionally, I will use 50wt on top too. I recently bought a spool of 50wt Hobby Lobby thread for piecing, and was pleasantly surprised.

  9. Kona Cotton - The Quilting Forum - Missouri Star's Quilt...

    forum.missouriquiltco.com/forum/we-don-t-know-much-but-we-know-quilters/...

A new Hobby Lobby opened up the road from me earlier this month. I went in there today and noticed Kona Cotton. Stupid question...is it the same Kona cotton that MSQC sells? If so, why are people so picky about buying fabric at HL. I'm fairly new to quilting. I've always bought fabric when I could get it on sale, cheap. I do buy pre-cuts from MSQC.

Re: Where can I find cute laminate fabric? If you don't find anything you like you can laminate your own. Joann Fabrics sells iron-on laminate.

  11. Fusible fleece instead of batting? - The Quilting Forum -...

    forum.missouriquiltco.com/forum/we-don-t-know-much-but-we-know-quilters/...

Re: Fusible fleece instead of batting? The warm & white/natural is a batting. That's what I use in my quilts. I have seen a few people mention using the fusible fleece in their tote bags instead of batting and that they were happy with the results.
