Windows Media Player Legacy is in Windows 10. Open the old Control Panel. Set View at the top of the old Control Panel to large icons Select Programs and Features. Click 'Turn windows Features on or off' on the left. Expand the 'Media Features' section and from there you can enable the old Windows Media Player (Legacy).
But the issue is resolved only in clean boot. it becomes rather troublesome to perform a clean boot every time i have to run a .msi installer. some permanent solution would be nice. I have also noticed that the problem is only for pure .msi installers. If i use a .exe installer with an msi embedded, it installs without any problems. Regards, Tarak
