In general I have had a subscription to Consumers Reports online and have used it a few times when buying appliances. I mainly used it in 2019 when we were renovating our old kitchen, and in 2020 when we had to buy a new dishwasher, and a new refrigerator. I have shared the password with friends and family as well.

I can read the individual issues on Apple News and don’t care to get print publications. If all you care about is the website stuff, their ditigal-only membership is only $39/yr. If you have an .edu email, you can get the student offer which is only $20/yr. You might also try the codes TAKE20, SPRING, or SPRING15 for a discount.

Consumer reports can be a good tool if you are buying a car, but in my opinion, it's not particularly worthwhile in general. I received a free multi-year subscription to CR as a gift. Even when free, I got little value from it. I was not in the market for a car and made few large purchases, as I do most years.

Consumer Reports won’t count a repair against the appliance’s reliability score if the repair is covered under warranty. Their reliability scores are also only looking at the first five years. Theoretically, a refrigerator can fail monthly from the day you bought it, and as long as it’s repaired under warranty for five years, it will earn ...

I use Consumer Reports through local library when I need to reference (I’m American). On the other hand, as many have mentioned they don’t update very often. I regularly use The Wirecutter for reviews and choices of all types of smaller items from baby stuff to TVs. Highly recommend!

Bottom line, though, Consumer Reports is a fine, honest, upstanding organization that provides real value for money, and if you want to know their recommendations, you owe it to yourself and all CR readers to buy a subscription to the print mag, at the very least.

If you have a library card, check your library’s online resources. Many libraries offer Consumer Reports both the online magazine and online database formats in library and at home for free. Reply. michigaus. • 3 yr. ago. I posted the 2021 CR report for mattresses HERE.

Wirecutter sometimes dings otherwise good picks for somewhat subjective things which is fine, but you need determine if you agree with their reasoning. 2. Itisd. • 3 yr. ago. Of those two, Consumer reports... But, be aware that their reviews are really just the reviewers opinions, and IMHO are often biased.

KBB is the standard for used pricing but if you look closely it's very variable. Another tool for older cars is Dashboard Light.
