Sky Q 4x3 aspect ratio issue. Prior to Sky Q it used to be possible to set the Sky box so that 4x3 ratio programmes on non-HD channels would automatically switch to show the picture correctly. My LG TV displays "3D Cinema" every time it goes into the Smart apps - it's not 3D so no idea why, it's just a generic logo unconnected to the exact TV model. It also displays the Model number in the Information menu, which might be shown as a question mark in the list of menu sections. By the way a Hybrid LNB is a Genuine Sky one.

All Sky remotes after version 4 (standard, Sky+, Sky HD, Open Keyboard and Navigator) can easily be reprogrammed to operate any Sky box although obviously some will not have the Sky+ functions on the remote (but can still playback recordings although new ones need setting using the box buttons as well as the remote).
Well I voted with my feet. Just decided I've had enough of paying sky £10 per month for the HD package. I will be contented enough with BBC HD, CH4 HD, ITV 1 HD and CH5 HD when it arrives soon. For what we watch of the others it's not worth it. Maybe Sky will drop it soon like they did with Sky+ recording, especially if 3D takes off.
