LC Class. MLCSA 90/03341. Prithivivallabh ( pronounced [pru.tʰi.vi.vəl.ləbʰ]) is a 1921 Gujarati historical novel by Kanaiyalal Munshi. The novel depicts the rivalry between Munj, the Paramara monarch of Dharanagari and Tailap as well as the romance between Munj and Mrinal. The novel draws historical information from various medieval works.
Career. From 1970 to 1974 he was a Lecturer in Philosophy at St. Stephen's College under the University of Delhi, before moving to North Eastern Hill University. Mrinal also served as the Director of the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla, from 1993 to 1999. He was nominated as a member of Rajya Sabha on 21 March 2012.
Plot. "Girls" is told from the viewpoint of an eight-year-old girl, and highlights how Indian society takes women for granted and conditions them to accept a secondary role in the family. It also shows that many a times, women themselves are the ones who consider women inferior. In the story, the narrator's father has been shown as a kind man.
