The Lighthouse Keepers Quarters next door, built in 1883, is currently serving as the Sandy Hook Visitor Center. The park is open 6 am through 9 pm daily, except by permit. There is a $20 charge per day for beach parking from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Fees are collected between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.

I found out that there is a 12 mile cycle path on sandy hook, and a nude beach, so decided to go there. Be aware it takes forever to drive the last half a mile or so to the park entrance as you have to pay to get in.
North Beach is the most northern bathing beach on Sandy Hook. Lifeguards are on duty from 10 am to 6 pm from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Swim only when and where lifeguards are on duty. During the peak season restrooms and showers are available at this location.
We have been going to Sandy Hook beach for a few years now. It never disappoints. Beautiful blue water, clean sand, no garbage or trash. The visitors are always friendly. The life guards are attentive. You can see NYC skyline from the beach - how cool is that?
