  2. Harbor Freight Sandblast Cabinet Mods - Grassroots Motorsports

    grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/harbor-freight...

Step 1. Assembly. I mostly followed the instructions, but caulked every joint, and the bolts/nuts from the inside. The supplied foam tape will still leak and make a mess - now's the best time to prevent it. I just used what I had lying around, about 3 tubes worth. Don't skimp.

  3. Which of these 2 torque wrenches? - Grassroots Motorsports

    grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/which-of-these-2...

The article suggests this too, but this wasn't a use wrench - this was a back of the trailer parking lot sale of the cheapest chinesium tools available before Harbor Freight became the meme that represented the genre. I've not found a HF coupon yet that includes Icon, but I do have a coupon for cheap zip-ties which I need for the Challenge car.

  4. Surely there is something between the $300 Harbor Freight tool...

    grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/surely-there-is...

Time to upgrade the tool box now that I have a 2 car garage. I know the HF 44" tool chest is pretty well regarded but every time I check it out in store I leave thinking it's too cheaply made. I can't bring myself to spending Snap On money. Is there anything in-between? I'm thinking something in the $5-800 range.

  5. Scissor jack recommendations? - Grassroots Motorsports

    grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/scissor-jack...

Harbor Freight sells an aluminum hydraulic jack that seems to get good reviews, if you have the storage space I'd look at that instead of a scissor jack (the handle comes off and breaks down into two pieces).

  6. Can we talk about ratchets? - In the market - Grassroots...

    grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/can-we-talk-about...

The only ratchet he kept close enough to always have on hand was a pear head Indestro. I have since inherited said ratchet and all the other Snap On, Mac, Matco, Craftsman, Harbor Freight, and whatever ratchets he had on top of the ones I already owned and he was on to something. That ratchet just works better than it has any reason to.

  7. Is harbor freight still the best option for a cheap trailer?

    grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/off-topic-discussion/is...

The first time I loaded the boat, it bent the rear crossmember. I straightened it out and bolted in a 1.5" angle across it. Without the boat on it, it flops like a seagull.

  8. Looking for the best tire pressure gauge - Grassroots Motorsports

    grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/looking-for-the-best...

The harbor freight one would also read differently by 3-4 lbs every time you put it on. I would like to know what the best gauge is that would be under/around $100. it's a lot for a gauge but I realized that apparently my pressures have been 5lbs off of what I thought they were more than one track day.

  9. Lets talk about shop lighting - Grassroots Motorsports

    grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/lets-talk-about-shop...

I bought the ones from Harbor Freight - 5000 or 5500 Lumens each 4 footer, since my eyes are old and tired I have them all over the shop but mostly where I do the majority of work - either over the workbenches, vise or engine stand. also over where I store nuts and bolts and over the toolboxes, where they shine directly into the drawers when I open them.

  10. 4 bolt on 4"? - Grassroots Motorsports

    grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/4-bolt-on-4/8354/page1

4x100 is really close and would probably bolt on. You would think the difference is insignificant. 4 inches = 4.000 100 mm = 3.9375 It's a half of lug bolt diameter off no matter how many times you spin it around.

  11. Wagner paint sprayers: Time saver or money waster?

    grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/off-topic-discussion/...

The board on board style of the fence makes it impossible to do a good job without some kind of sprayer. Using the Wagner was a lot easier than running an air hose and using a regular spray gun which I did the first time. I have also done my storage shed a couple times. Using the sprayer took ~1/4 the time that brush and roller did originally.
