I have the all routes file too (google earth paths for each route, roughly following the rails), but I don't have access to it right now. I decided to add the Sunset East stops, as this route is technically "suspended", not discontinued. I hope this is intriguing somehow!

A few others that come to mind: Whitefish, MT.
Amtrak's current running time is 41.6 hours. The 1950 Super Chief left LAUPT 1.25 hours later than 2007 and arrived in Chicago 1.6 hours earlier than 2007. The average speed of 54.2MPH is still not bad compared to other Amtrak long distance routes compared to 1950s schedules. G.
Hillsborough, NJ. Jul 11, 2010. #1. Like many of you I have ridden on quite a few Amtrak trains but so far my vote for the roughest ride would have to go to the AutoTrain. A combination of constant 70+ MPH speed, poorly maintained CSX track, numerous grade crossing and a heavy long train can make for a very rough ride.

Google transit is slowly adding all the Amtrak routes into its system. I know the Capitol Limited is in there. I can now click Washington to Chicago and click on transit, and it will tell you to take the 4:05 pm departure. It's pretty nifty.
Nov 30, 2021. #12. If you use an apple phone and use Apple Maps, if you click the top right maps icon and select transit it shows all Amtrak lines, when you zoom in it then shows local commuter routes and then subway/light rail routes. Also includes ferries, some buses, and more.
