The USPS does indeed have "package tracking" with package tracking numbers and package tracking scans. Tracking for First Class letters and flats involves a different kind of tracking number(s) and a different scanning protocol. (There are other types of tracking and scanning as well; for example registered mail has a more rigorous protocol.)
Hello - My customer in the USA purchased two of my art prints. I shipped them on June 4th from the UK by Royal Mail International Tracked and Signed. The tracking showed the parcel had reached Chicago on June 11th. However it showed no further movement since then and I could only assume the shipment had gone astray.

Inspiration Seeker. 07-25-2022 02:56 PM. I've had questions about this as well. I utilize a printer for posters who ships items internationally and provides me with a FedEx Cross Border number - which is not valid for the Etsy Tracking number field when selecting "FedEx" for the carrier.
Post Crafter. 01-04-202201:50 PM. Just wanted to let you all know that I tried sending a package through Etsy to Australia ...because they said it was possible. Oh...you can send them...but the only option you have is FEDEX...for $200 +!!!! So, I went on Stamps.com and was able to ship it via Global Post Standard!
What the PO clerk described to you is not package service and would not include any tracking. Paypal offers only the same "package" services with tracking. While you might save on shipping cost using a non-tracked method, you could possibly also increase cases of "not received" claims and no way to dispute it without tracking.

Community Maker. 11-13-2021 01:41 AM. I am in Australia and use UPS exclusively for International Shipments. I have never had any issues with UPS Tracking. But I think it depends on the class of service you select. We always choose tracked and signed and the Etsy Tracking updates door-to-door, and every point inbetween. Translate to English.
