Dec 12, 2017. #1. I own an LG55UH7700 tv which has an optical output only.I purchased the TaoTronics Transmitter BA-09. I connected the optical cable to the TV and to the SPDIF input of the transmitter in TX mode. I have tried several times to pair with my Sony wireless headphones with no luck. I have set the sound out setting to optical output.
Someone very skilled in electronics and soldering may be able to open the TV up, read the schematics, and tap in some sort of wireless transmitter or earphone port via the TV's speaker connections. However, the TV's circuitry is probably not designed to even consider that sort of modication.

The normal way that these jacks are wired is that the output of the preamp goes to the headphone jack then from the switch contact of the jack to the power amp and then to the speakers.When you insert the jack plug you break the contact and cut the speakers off. If you cut any of the wires you will permanently disable the speakers.

I have Sony STR DH770 receiver which does not have any audio line out except for the headphones jack in the front. I would like to connect wireless headphones for my hard of hearing father but I would like to keep speakers output active so I can listen too. So I can not use the headphones jack because it turns speakers off.

I'm looking for a multifunctional wireless headset. The bare minimum I want is a gaming wireless headset with a microphone that can also connect to my Samsung smart TV. I don't want to go down the Bluetooth route as I have already a set of Sony Bluetooth headphones and disappointed with how complex it can be to connect to different devices.
One solution is to use a soundbar instead of the TV speakers. You would split the audio output or use an HDMI-ARC audio extractor to connect the soundbar and headphone transmitter to the same connection. Another option would be to find a TV that permits bluetooth headphones and the TV speakers to work at the same time.
