Regarding to your information I assume that you can't load Live Feed on MSNBC Live with Edge. The difference in user agents between the Edge and Chrome seems to be an additional Edge string and maybe this thing causes your problem. Maybe you can try to press F12 and change the User Agent in the development tool. Click Network conditions.

When I open the (new) Edge browser it goes to MSN.com. But the "home page" button takes me to Xfinity.com. Is there a way to change to home page to MSN--or maybe just be able to return to the Start

The time and date on the machine are accurate. I also don't know what you mean by check box for putting the MSNBC URL into, and as I've said it isn't a MSNBC news feed but the gadget News feed that is the problem so I don't think this is relevant either.
