    I have a Dell XPS 15 and don't bother with support assist. If you want you can go to the dell website and then go to drivers and downloads and it will install itself. Maybe once a year or so do this, update the BIOS, don't install all the other stuff like OS recovery etc., and then uninstall it, including the dell power manager.
