Sony’s NW-A55 Walkman DAP brings back nostalgia while incorporating some modern features. That being said, the out-of-the-box experience is merely average at best. Released in 2018, it lacks some modern features like WiFi connectivity, type-C port etc.
1/ Can Walkman be used as a Line out source ? The clear answer is ”Sony doesn’t recommend it”. However, if you want to, you can still use it, and it is best with utilizing ground connection from 3.5mm. The sound quality will not be as good as phone out. Because the system is designed to take into account the Load Reactance of the voice coils.
