The following is a list of films produced and/or released by Columbia Pictures in 2000–2009. Most films listed here were distributed theatrically in the United States by the company's distribution division, Sony Pictures Releasing (formerly known as Triumph Releasing Corporation (1982–1994) and Columbia TriStar Film Distributors International (1991–2005).
DC originally stood for "Droors Clothing," but since the sale of Droors Clothing [when?], DC no longer has ties to Droors and is simply DC Shoes, Inc. [2] On March 8, 2004, DC Shoes was acquired by Quiksilver in an $87 million transaction. [4] [5] In 2010, DC Shoes moved from Vista, California, to Quiksilver's headquarters in Huntington Beach. [6]
Famous Studios (renamed Paramount Cartoon Studios in 1956) was the first animation division of the film studio Paramount Pictures from 1942 to 1967. Famous was established as a successor company to Fleischer Studios, after Paramount seized control of the aforementioned studio amid the departure of its founders, Max and Dave Fleischer, in 1942.
