I honestly never even thought about getting a pure sine wave UPS for my iMac -- mainly because I'd had good luck with CyberPower UPS's in the past and they didn't offer a pure sine wave UPS at the time. I'm using a CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD PFC Sinewave UPS that's only about 15 months old. I changed the USB cable from the UPS to my iMac, and I changed USB ports on my iMac, and I turned everything off and back on.
