There IS no box that pops up informing you that you get to enjoy your free Hulu trial until the end of the trial when you go to cancel early. I’ve done it four times. You can usually do it once every 3-6 months. Only downside is they only give you a free month of Hulu with ads. Sirius XM once gave me 6 months for the price of one month because I called to cancel the service.
I haven't seen a benefit to pausing as opposed to just canceling. But as I said, it's possible if you cancel for a period of X months, they'll delete your data. I couldn't find an answer to this either. It's been years since I subscribed to Hulu.
