Dial Japan's country code (81). If the number starts with a 0, drop the leading 0 and dial everything else. For example, to call the Japanese number (012)-345-6789 from the US, dial 011+81+12-345-6789. Or to call the Japanese mobile phone number 090-1234-5678 from Australia, dial 0011+81+90-1234-5678. Again, direct dialing tends to be an ...
Curious about the format of Japanese phone numbers. I've seen so many variations of how phone numbers--particularly land lines--are written and I'm curious about what the deal is, but I haven't found anything on Google. I have seen phone numbers written the following three ways: 042-632-8510. 42-632-8510. 0426- (32)-8510.
Re: Entering phone numbers. 2017/1/25 13:59. Not a problem limited to Japan, but normally you have a country of residence field and that fills in the gaps. So +12 34 5678 9012 would just be 034 5678 9012 and the booking system would add the country code and then when dialing would drop the leading zero etc etc.

Most banks require you to be a resident in Japan in order to open an account, and a "real" 070, 080, or 090 number is part of that. Your best bet is to work with the university. Find out if you can get the money once you get here, or if they can send it to you in a non Japanese account. 22. dalkyr82.

4, you can type in a non-Japanese phone number. For example, I typed it as 1xxxxxxxxxx format for American number. 5 if your birthday month is when you plan on going, it seems like you can get a special gift and order cake and a song. There will be a field asking if you are celebrating a birthday. I did not use it.
I'm not having an issue with most of the form, but as I live in Japan, my primary contact is my Japanese phone number. The issue is that the number of boxes available to fill in is for a US phone number. I printed out this form from the official US embassy website for Tokyo Japan, so I know I'm not using the incorrect form.
Well, I suppose I could leave out the first zero in my mobile phone code (090) for them here in Japan. That would leave me the room to fill the actual phone number in. I don't know if they will knit pick me for doing so, but not sure why the form is catered so much to people living in the US only.
If you are calling from an American phone, you will likely have to enter in Japan's country code (+81) first. America's country code is +1, if you weren't aware. Just as 1 and the area code don't hurt to dial in the US, no harm in dialing them just to be sure. As for the area code discrepancy, Japanese cell phones almost always have a 090 or ...
