I am in the market for a new mouse and I had decided to pull the trigger on a Razer Deathadder v2 pro. However, you have to use Razer software with it and I cannot install software on my work computer. So I am looking for an alternative that is comparable without the software. For reference, my hand size is 19.1 cm x 11.4 cm and I palm grip.
No it doesn't need to be running. Unless you want stuff like "automatic profile switching between games", if that's even a thing on this product. I installed the software once to configure my mouse and immediately removed it :) Reply reply. Schytheron.
Nope! I use many of my Razers on work stations without the RGB. For my main home work station I use SignalRGB, and my main play laptop, a Razer 15, Advanced, it's Synapse. All else is RGBless? Even the periphs. As a matter of fact, my favorite Razer mouse doesn't even have RGB. Theres a time and a place for it.
This is a big improvement over the DeathAdder Elite. It no longer has that super-tactile scroll that was loud and odd feeling. Its become a lot softer tactile. The rubber grip on the scroll has also improved. No longer the rubber spikes. Feels great now. Stock Cable. This is one of my favorite things about this mouse.

Download OpenRGB ( thanks to Adam Honse for this much needed software). Select the Razer Peripheral you want to change the color or effect of. Choose the "Direct" option in the mode drop down menu. Proceed to select the color you want and then click on apply color.
The weight: I was a little apprehensive going from a mouse at 69g (M4) to 88g, but I honestly don't really notice. I'm sure the weight is more distributed across the larger DA, so that may be the cause. I don't find myself wishing it was any lighter than it is. The skates: I really like the stock skates on this mouse.

It also feels smaller in the hand than the previous Deathadder shapes. Build quality - rock solid despite 57g weight - no creaking or flex at all, and at least initially feels on par with Zowie build quality. Coating - The wired soft touch coating is pretty good, and I like it a lot better than the PBT-ish grainy coating on the Viper Ultimate ...
