In my Win10 HP computer HP has installed in the notification area its icon for HP's "Support Assistant." I need to remove this icon--and the HP Support Assistant itself doesn't help me to do so.
I do not know if this software is installed in my computer. There is a message telling me that there is a problem with HP Support Assistant but when I click it says something like it is not available (the message or I do not know what/). Also, every time I try to check the batterry a message pops up telling me that HPBC is unable to launch.
Go to "Settings > Apps > Apps & features", and search for HP. See if HP Support Assistant is still installed. If HP Support Assistant is not appearing in Apps & features, there may be some leftovers from the application. See if you can completely uninstall it using Revo Uninstaller Free.
I have experienced exactly the same issue. When I try to remove the HP Support Assistance I get the fault information: "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable". The failed path indicated is: C:\ProgramData\ {18165758-115C-4DC0-9EC2-FF89F725767F}\.

Honestly, you do not need HP Support Assist, that will battle with Windows about what drivers to install and other settings on your PC also. Let Windows manage your system updates, including drivers, in any case, once HP stop supporting your model of PC, HP Support Assist will be redundant anyway.
