The best news I've heard from Cisco recently is that they released the Catalyst 1000 (not the 1200/1300, the 1000). There was never a worthy successor to the 2960X (if you don't care about backplane stacking, which i recognize is a thing) for a small, access-edge implementations that require basically the bare minimum.
elchamo1986. •. I have been a part of two layoffs at Cisco at this point. They do this often, but what is odd the last few years at Cisco is they seem to really be doubling down and hiring mainly people that fit a specific set of criteria: Super young with no experience to speak of right out of college, but their Mom or Dad work at Cisco.
I've been with Cisco for 9 years. Got impacted on 12/12/2022. As far as our BU goes, the layoffs were pretty crazy, they've erased decades of expertise on the team. Some of the best people in the BU were impacted, and by best I don't mean just good people, but actually some of the highest performers who were also good people at the same time.
Company News. Cisco announced plans to cut 5% of its workforce on Wednesday, a decision that will result in the elimination of about 4,250 jobs. Shares were down 4% in extended trading. It’s the latest tech company to downsize in 2024, as the industry continues to squeeze out costs following the market downturn that hit two years ago.
Unless some of those circumstances change, things could get worse in this market sector. Earlier this week, anticipated layoffs began at Cisco. The company laid the ground for the layoffs last month, announcing that approximately 4,100 employees would lose their positions. This equates to about 5% of the company’s workforce.
I have checked 1,986,842,432 comments, and only 375,768 of them were in alphabetical order. PayPal is going to layoff a substantial number between 31 Jan, 2024 to 15, Feb 2024. Remote employees out first, followed by junior to PayPal, then the teams that makes lower revenue.
Cisco ended fiscal 2023 with Q4 revenue at $15.2 billion, up 16% year over year; GAAP EPS $0.97, up 43% year over year, and Non-GAAP EPS $1.14, up 37% year over year Q4 FY 2023 operating cash flow of $6.0 billion, up 62% year over year
Cisco just got hit with layoffs again. Friendly reminder that your a number to these companies my fellow sales comrades. Please be selfish. They layoff the bottom 3-10% of their company every single year. This is fairly typical and not a good company to work for if you plan to just coast. From what I understand, this is pretty typical for Cisco ...
Well, cisco's a big tent. But still, 14k is a lot of people. ~72k employees in '15? 20% (19.5%) of their workforce? That said, it's all pretty much ethernet to ethernet these days... I suppose that'll make it more difficult for cisco to differentiate itself, and cisco doesn't seem to have been on the leading edge of networking fads for a while.
Cisco laying off 5% of force. news. CISCO just released earnings and reducing 5% of their workforce. 1.
