I have a bong as well as a copy of 'The Eiger Sanction' and just a few nights ago I was using one while watching the other. Great Movie. Iconic now. I also have a copy of 'Dirty Harry'. I love the scene where he has confronted/presented Scorpio with the ransom money at the big Cross on the hill in San Fran.

Well, in celebration of my last of 30 days in horizontal hell (in bed recovering from probable spider bite, infection and surgery) I watched Eiger Sanction. Not as bad as I had feared. But boy, ice climbing technique sure has improved in the last 33 years. (I hate to admit the film is that old.)
I watch The Eiger Sanction all the time. Classic. From the movie notes somewhere, George Kennedy got a helo ride to the top of the Totem Pole but Clint actually jugged the lines. Clint Eastwood did all of his own stunts for the flick. Anyone want to sound off on climbing the Totem Pole?
Except for the Movie soloist ( "By Hover) the Eiger sanction is still the best Hollywood Climbing movie ever made... The combination of story , Hollywood and actual climbing and the Hot indian chick. Truely put it as an all time classic. I wish Hollywoood or Baliwood could come up with 1/2 as credible of a film nowadays.....and Aunt Jemima.....
i just watched that movie two nights ago, i love it. thought you draw the line at hauling ice. kinda OT- last night was the tahoe adventure film festival, Shane McConkey edition, awesome ski basing off the eiger and just about everything else, including the leap. guest speaker was rick sylvester, came down to talk at the mike in a straight jacket! what a stud. the guy was waaaay ahead of his time.

Difficult for the grade. Clint Eastwood was featured in the movie “The Eiger Sanction” climbing in the top of the cave. Climb a right-facing corner to a bolted anchor just right of the cave. It is possible to continue up the wide corner and out the roof above the first anchor to another bolted anchor.
