Campbell Building or the Campbell Hotel, was built in 1927. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010. [1]
The mall thrived until about the late 1980s when the economic downturn of southern Louisiana after the "oil bust" took an especially heavy toll on New Orleans East. [1] Through the 1990s, as the neighborhoods around it deteriorated and became unsafe, the mall felt the repercussions.
The Mayo Hotel was built in 1925, designed by architect George Winkler, and financed by John D. and Cass A. Mayo. [2] The base of two-story Doric columns supports fourteen floors marked with false terracotta balconies, and a two-story crown of stone and a dentiled cornice [3] At the time the 600-room hotel was the tallest building in Oklahoma.

It was originally developed by Homart Development Company, [1] and opened in August 1976. [3] Woodland Hills Mall features 148 specialty shops and restaurants, 80 of which are unique to the Tulsa area.
